About DuckByte
While technology and AI appear to be leading the way toward the future, I believe that human consciousness and connection are the true forces driving all growth. At the heart of DuckByte lies the belief that technology should serve and enhance life, rather than control it.
Originally co-founded with a shared spirit of innovation, DuckByte continues under Alesia’s quiet direction, evolving as a reflection of that original vision—rooted in presence, creativity, and conscious design.
Let’s connect and explore how your next chapter online can be as alive and dynamic as your ideas.
“To sleep, perchance to dream.”
Alesia Lloyd
When Alesia isn’t busy crafting clever copy or unleashing her wit on unsuspecting friends, she can often be found pondering life’s most important questions—such as why cats have become the overlords of the internet (her money’s on the ancient Egyptians). But it’s not all cerebral pursuits for Alesia; she’s equally at home in the great outdoors, exploring the Sierra Nevada wilderness and all its canyons, rivers, and lakes.

Alesia Lloyd Behind the Screens
![]()
Alesia began her web career in 1997 while pursuing a graduate degree in Professional Writing at MUM and serving as Assistant Editor for the university newspaper. When asked to bring the paper online for the first time in its history, she found herself standing before an event horizon—not only in her professional life, but in culture itself—witnessing the birth of an entirely new medium. It wasn’t just the dawn of online publishing; for Alesia, it was the moment language, code, and consciousness began to coalesce into a new vision.
Long before Google wore its crown, Alesia was shaping words for the glowing screen—learning the hidden architecture of the web the way a poet learns meter. She moved easily between syntax and story, between the tangible click of a keyboard and the ineffable pulse of meaning. What she built was never just a page; it was an experience of connection.
Her career unfolded like an eight-spoked wheel—writing, editing, design, strategy, and the human heart at the center. Every spoke informed the next, fusing artistry, intuition, and technical grace into something quietly rare: a designer fluent in imagination and execution.
When her position at the web design company she had long called home dissolved during the 2022 tech crash, the moment didn’t close a chapter—it opened a portal. She reconnected with longtime colleague and early web pioneer Paul Stokstad, a kindred spirit from those early digital frontiers in Fairfield, Iowa. Together, they hatched DuckByte in 2023—a studio founded on the belief that technology should amplify human creativity, not overshadow it.
Now in 2025, with DuckByte evolving into a soul proprietorship, Alesia continues to tend the DuckByte pond—a place where design, consciousness, and play converge. While Paul has taken flight into teaching and other creative and athletic ventures (hello, pickleball), his spirit remains in the wings. Under Alesia’s direction, DuckByte continues to soar: visionary, grounded, and unmistakably alive.

Through thoughtful dialogue and intentional design, DuckByte helped me bring an evolving vision into form. The result is a website that doesn’t just communicate what I do — it reflects who I am becoming. It feels like a living presence, not a digital façade. –Angela Nisbet, Consultant & Coach
